WATCH: High speed crash as armed suspects flee Musgrave robbery scene

Captain Poobalan Naidoo, spokesperson for Berea SAPS, confirmed that a case of armed robbery was opened at Berea SAPS. 

THERE was a high-speed collision when armed suspects crashed into oncoming traffic at the intersection of Stephen Dlamini Road and John Zikhali Road at about 8pm on Wednesday.

Three suspects were fleeing the scene of a robbery on Vause Road when they collided with another vehicle.

Kyle Van Reenen, spokesperson for Emer-G-Med Paramedics said they attended the scene of the collision.

In a video shared on social media by Intelligence Bureau SA, the suspects can be seen emerging from their vehicle after the collision and fleeing the scene on foot.

Van Reenen said the passengers in the other vehicle were not seriously harmed in the collision.

“They did not sustain any serious injuries,” he said.

“Reports from the scene allege the suspects were attempting to flee at high speed when they lost control of their getaway vehicle,” added Van Reenen.

Captain Poobalan Naidoo, spokesperson for Berea SAPS, confirmed that a case of armed robbery was opened at Berea SAPS.

“Three suspects in a grey Toyota corolla robbed a person on Vause Road in Musgrave and fled the scene. They later crashed their vehicle and they were arrested for armed robbery by Berea SAPS members and detained. Berea detectives are busy with further investigations,” he said.

Naidoo said the suspects had robbed a man of his cellphone on Vause Road.

The stolen property was recovered.
