Sentencing for Miguel Louw’s killer postponed until Friday

The Durban man who kidnapped and killed 10-year-old Miguel Louw is expected to be sentenced at the Durban High Court on Friday.

UPDATE (12 April: 14.30): The parties shared their pre-sentencing arguments earlier today, said spokesperson for the KZN National Prosecuting Authority, Natasha Kara. 

The matter has been provisionally postponed to Friday for sentencing.


THE Durban man who kidnapped and killed 10-year-old Miguel Louw is expected to be sentenced at the Durban High Court today. 

This according to spokesperson for the KZN National Prosecuting Authority, Natasha Kara who said the proceedings were scheduled for Monday, 12 April.

In December, last year, Mohamed Ebrahim, was found guilty on three counts for murder, kidnapping, and theft.

Louw was on his way home from school when he went missing in July 2018. After a lengthy search for the young boy, his decomposed body was found two months later, in September, buried near Ebrahim’s Phoenix home.

Louw was last seen on video footage, leaving a restaurant near his house with Ebrahim.

The court heard Ebrahim had previously lived at Miguel’s home in Sydenham. He allegedly decided to kill Miguel after a dispute with Miguel’s mother.
