Debut book for Durban author

Development and relationship manager at Durban Child and Youth Care Centre in Glenwood, Nicolette Modicka, has followed her dream and published a book.

DEVELOPMENT and relationship manager at Durban Child and Youth Care Centre in Glenwood, Nicolette Modicka, has followed her dream and published a book entitled Grace in Every Season.

Nicolette, a member of the Nazareth Family Church, said her faith is firmly anchored in Jesus Christ and she is passionate about helping people discover their potential in Him.

She has over 10 years’ experience mentoring and helping young people, and is also married with two daughters.

Speaking about her book and what inspired the title, Nicolette said she when she started writing down her testimonies, she realised that although the seasons changed there remained one constant in every season of her life.

“That is God and His grace. God’s Grace, which is His love and mercy, is what has carried me through in every season. His Grace is enough and His Grace is all we need!” she said.

She said Grace in Every Season is a book in which she shares her personal story of how God’s Grace has been sufficient for her in the different seasons of her life and how it can also be sufficient for others.

“This thanksgiving testimony in the form of this book is my story of hope and encouragement. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter are not the only seasons we experience in life.

“They may be the seasons of a year, but in addition to them there are also seasons that we undergo in our life. We go through the seasons of life, where natural and spiritual lessons are learnt. Some seasons are more challenging and difficult than others, but with God you are guaranteed to find the beauty of His Grace in every season.

“It’s in our human nature to sometimes have doubt and unbelief amid adversity. It is easy to lose faith and forget who we are in Christ when things seem to be going wrong,” she said.

She said when we go through challenges in life and feel that we cannot make it, God is our strength that assures us that we can succeed.

“When it is hard to see a way out, He is the one that gives us 2020 ‘faith’ vision to see what others around us cannot see. It’s important to know how to navigate with heavenly wisdom through each season. He is present every moment of every day and you are guaranteed to find His Grace is sufficient in every season of your life!” she said.
