Four suspects appear in Durban court for stabbing, robbing man

The suspects assaulted and robbed a man in Alexandra Road, Durban, on Sunday.

FOUR suspects appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court this week, facing charges of robbery and attempted murder.

According to Sgt Zanele Khomo from Durban Central SAPS, it is alleged that on Sunday, 7 March at around midnight, Durban Central Crime Prevention members were conducting curfew operations in the Durban CBD when they were approached by a man.

“The man informed members that his friend has been assaulted and robbed in Alexandra Road by men who had then gone into a nearby building. Members proceeded to the scene and interviewed the man. They swiftly arrested four men inside the building, who were all positively identified by the man for robbing and stabbing him,” she said.

Upon searching the suspects, three knives and cash to the value of R900 were recovered.

“The knives were used for stabbing the victim and the money was taken from him. All items will be used as an exhibit,” said Khomo.
