Durban SAPS arrest four alleged burglars

The men are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court in due course.

DURBAN Central crime prevention officers arrested four suspects for housebreaking, fraud and contravening the Disaster Management Act in the early hours of the morning, today, 17 February.

According to Sgt Zanele Khomo from Durban Central SAPS, it is alleged that at around 2.30am, Durban Central members were conducting patrols in the Morningside area when they noticed a white Toyota  Avanza travelling at high speed.

“The vehicle went through a red traffic light at the intersection of Kent and Umgeni Roads. Officers became suspicious and gave chase with the assistance of a backup team. The vehicle was travelling towards the north coast and it turned into Nandi Drive where it was cornered and stopped by police,” said Khomo.

They are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court in due course,” said Khomo.
