Touting for Christmas gifts by DSW staff not allowed

DSW staff will be working throughout the festive season including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

CLEANSING and Solid Waste Unit (DSW) staff will be working throughout the festive season including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and the municipality has said while it is the season of giving, DSW staff are strictly prohibited from touting for gifts, including money, from residents.

The municipality said residents are also advised to be wary of impostors posing as DSW workers to solicit gifts.

Refuse removal services will continue as normal during the festive season including public holidays. The public is urged to place refuse bags on the verge on collection days.

DSW offices will be closed on 16, 25 and 26 December and 1 January 2021, however, operational staff will be on duty throughout the festive season.

Recycling bags will not be collected on these public holidays. The non- collection only applies to areas whose recyclables are to be collected on these days.

The municipality has requested residents keep their recyclables and take them out on the next collection days which do not fall on public holidays.
