A TEAM of eco-organisations will take to the Durban coastline on Saturday, 28 November from 8am, to do a major clean-up.
The community is encouraged to join in and help make a difference.
Speaking about the events, Victoria Soutar from One Change SA, said the event was created for the joining of hands in the City of Durban.
“We aim to encourage everyday citizens to adapt ‘one change’ in their everyday lives that will contribute to a brighter, cleaner future for our city. The event aims to shed light on the incredible work done by local environmental-based organisations and local heroes making a change in our city. Durban is busting with potential, these local organisations deserve the support from the public,” she said.
Join these various Durban-based environmental organisations to blitz the beachfront in an effort to clean up plastic pollution and build awareness around the harmful events plastic waste has on the environment.

When it comes to serving on the day, you can choose where you would like to serve.
A clean-up with GOBY will be at Suncoast Beah from 8am, and there will be clean-ups at Pirates Beach with Durban Green Corridor and Durbanites against Plastic Pollution.
You can join Wildoceans for a clean-up at North Beach or join KZN Beach Clean Up at South Beach.
At Vetch’s/DUC a team including members from Breathe Ocean Conservation and Zebra Shark Adventures will do a snorkel reef clean-up and Blue Betty will do a stand-up paddle event.
Also at Vetch’s, Litter 4 Tokens will use the Mermaid tear catcher to clean-up the beach, and Makerspace/Baobab will do an up-cycle demonstration.
People can also do a river clean-up at Umgeni River Mangroves with the Litterboom Project.
