RHUMBELOW Theatre, 42 Cunningham Road, Umbilo, presents Ian von Memerty in Prince of the Piano, from Tuesday, 17 to Thursday, 19 November.

The creator of A Handful of Keys is back behind the piano for a celebration of the best and most brilliant of all the pianists.
Ian pays tribute to the King of Instruments and those geniuses who are the Princes of the Piano.

There are the knock-out razzle-dazzle performers like Liberace and Elton John and Freddy Mercury.

But there are also the great rockers Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder.

And let’s not forget the princesses from Nina Simone to Adele, dazzling virtuoso pianism for the Bohemian Rhapsody Piano Concerto and powerhouse vocals for Fats Waller and Fats Domino.

And, of course, laughter bubbles through the night like an irrepressible spring as Ian improvises, invents and ignites with that rare audience communication that has made him “the Oxford Dictionary definition of Show Business”.

The show is at 7.30pm and the venue opens 60 minutes before the show for snacks/drinks.

Bar available (no alcohol may be taken on to the premises). Covid-19 protocols will be followed.

Cost is R180 a ticket with R150 concessions.
