#JerusalemaDanceChallenge DUT offers R10 000 for best dance school

The Durban University of Technology is offering a R10 000 voucher to the school than can do the best Jerusalema dance challenge.

The Durban University of Technology is giving away a R10 000 voucher to the school that can do the best Jerusalema Challenge.

“DUT hopes to foster social inclusion and cohesion among South African learners of all races, classes, ages and cultures through the Jerusalema competions,” said the university.

The Jerusalema Dance Competition is a worldwide phenomenon based on the hit song ‘Jerusalema’ by SA DJ, Master KG.

Entries for the DUT competition open on 19 October 2020 and close on 9 November 2020. It is open to all primary and high schools. A team can have a maximum of 10 participants.

It is important that all dancers are wearing face masks or their entries will not be considered.

Videos between 2 – 4 minutes must be submitted in MP4 format on WhatsApp to this number, 064 773 1318.

Winners will be judged on execution, creativity, passion and energy.

Prizes include:

  • R10 000 voucher and a framed certificate for the winning school.
  • R500 book voucher per team member and branded t-shirts for the winning team.
  • R8000 book voucher and framed certificate for second placed school.
  • R300 book voucher per team member and branded t-shirts for second placed team.
  • R5000 voucher and framed certificate for third placed school
  • Branded t-shirts for third placed team.
