Durban police search for mother and child

The woman informed her former husband that she was going to South Africa for a holiday.

DURBAN Central SAPS is appealing to the community for assistance in solving a contempt of court matter where a mother and child are being sought. 

According to provincial SAPS spokesperson, Col Thembeka Mbele, it is alleged that in September 2019, the mother, Kalavani Moodley, left Denmark with her four-year-old son, Sebastian Moodley Soerensen.

“She informed her former husband that she was going to South Africa for a holiday. She has not returned after an instruction from the court that she had to return the child to his father. She is believed to be in the vicinity of Chatsworth or Umdloti,” said Mbele.

The woman is also a wanted fugitive by Interpol.

She urged anyone who knows of their whereabouts to contact the Durban Central investigating officer, Det Sgt Thubelihle Mhlongo on 084 089 2407/ 031 325 4218 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
