Body of man found floating in Durban harbour

Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities.

LOCAL authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a body that was found floating in the Durban harbour on Thursday, 1 October. 

According to Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer from Netcare 911, just before 10am  they responded to reports of a drowning at the Durban Marina in the harbour.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a passing vessel had found a body floating in the water. The patient, an adult man believed to be in his 30s, was assessed shortly after being taken to shore and officially declared deceased,” said Herbst.
