Umbilo CPF hosts braai for police, security personnel

Those treated on the day were officers from Umbilo SAPS, Metro Police , and security armed response officers who were on duty on Heritage Day.

A HERITAGE Day braai was arranged at Umbilo SAPS by the Umbilo CPF executive on 24 September.

The Umbilo CPF executive was represented by Heather Roos, Sean Ellis and Gail Richards, and Roos said the braai was the CPF’s way of saying thank you to SAPS members as well as the Durba

n Metro police and the local security firms for all they do.

 

Those treated on the day were officers from Umbilo SAPS, Metro Police , and security armed response officers who were on duty on Heritage Day.

Assistance on the day was also provided by Bulwer Safety and Urban Regeneration Forum (BSURF) members Maria van Niekerk, Toni Kinghorn, Ginger Subramoney and Niran Naidoo.

Ahead of the braai, Col Ximba from Umbilo SAPS introduced the officers on shift to the executive CPF and BSURF members, and also explained to officers that at all police stations, CPFs are a requirement and further explained their role. Roos then addressed police about what the Umbilo CPF does in the community.

“We aim to build a better relationship and understanding between the Umbilo SAPS members and the executive CPF,” said Roos.
