Help Durban police solve kidnapping, rape case

Assistance is sought by Durban Central police regarding a case they are investigating.

DURBAN Central police are appealing to the community for assistance with regards to a case of kidnapping and rape they are investigating.

Sgt Zanele Khomo from Durban Central said it is alleged that on 17 June, at about 7.30pm, a woman was walking along Market Road in the CBD when she was approached by two unknown men near the Umbilo taxi rank.

“A double cab vehicle stopped and the victim was forced inside. She was blindfolded and was driven in the vehicle to a house where she was raped by four men,” said Khomo.

She said police believe the men in the identikits they have can be of assistance in solving the case. Anyone with information can contact Det Const Madonsela on 078 255 2468 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
