WATCH: More Durban schools take on Jerusalema Dance Challenge

School learners and teachers at two more schools took on the Jerusalema Challenge recently.

DURBAN Christian Centre School (DCCS) and Port Natal Pre-Primary School are two other schools to take up the Jerusalema Dance Challenge.

Speaking about their video, Chantell Mason from Port Natal Pre-Primary School said they decided to accept the dance challenge and to glorify God by doing this.

“He has always protected our school during difficult times and has never failed us.  So this Jerusalema dance challenge was all for our Saviour,” she said.

Chantell said it didn’t take long for staff to learn the dance. “We took three days to learn, and we actually do the dance so often now. It brings us closer together as staff,” said Chantell.

Melissa Moodley said the learners at DCCS put together the dance to bring hope and joy to those around them, and simply to have some fun.

“Covid has been a challenging time for everyone, especially children who had to become accustomed to a ‘new normal’ at school. This was a way to have fun, spread laughter, and look on the bright side of the situation we are currently facing,” she said.

Melissa said the children taught each other the dance moves in less than a week. “They coordinated their own outfits, and simply had a blast,” she said.
