WATCH: Happy birthday to Berea’s Ina who turned 100 today

The birthday girl was treated to a special birthday party, along with cake, at Essenwood Residence today.

AGE is just a number for Berea’s Ina Swindon, who celebrates her 100th birthday today, 21 August.

This morning, Ina was treated to a ‘gate visit’, due to lockdown regulations, by her “adopted granddaughter”, Glenwood resident Gina Hinchliffe, and her husband Shane.

The couple, along with her caregiver at Essenwood Residence, Monica Dlamini, sang happy birthday to her while she sat in her wheelchair in the sun.

Ina was thrilled with their visit, the gifts, and with the special attention, although she couldn’t quite grasp the fact that it was actually her 100th birthday!

She was interested to receive a birthday card from Queen Elizabeth II and took some time looking at it.
