Caister hosts ‘cuppa’ event

The event raised R1 400 for CANSA and was an enjoyable, fun morning for the residents.

CAISTER Lodge in Musgrave hosted a Cuppa for Cansa Tea and Pretty Hat Competition to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) last week.

Organised by resident Cynthia Jones, the event raised R1 400 for CANSA and was an enjoyable, fun morning for the residents. Cynthia recently hosted a ‘Guess the Bride’ wedding photo competition to raise funds for CANSA, and said she thought it would be nice to host another event to brighten up the lives of residents during lockdown, while raising funds for such a worthy cause.

A prize for the best hat was sponsored by Diverse Distributors cc, and a special coffee cake was arranged by Caister Lodge to enjoy with tea.”Jean Deeley had the winning hat and received the prize of a hamper of chocolates which she promptly shared with her friends – lucky for me I was one of them! I hope other residential homes will also try and do the same and make some funds for a worthy cause,” said Cynthia.
