Morningside burglar appears in court

The suspect was arrested for business burglary and possession of suspected stolen property.

A 43 year-old man made his first appearance in Durban Magistrates Court on 20 July for business burglary and possession of suspected stolen property.

According to Sgt Zanele Khomo from Durban Central SAPS, the arrest emanates from an operation that was conducted by Durban Central crime prevention between 16 and 17 July when officers responded to a complaint of a business burglary.

“Police arrested the suspect who had broken into a business premises on McKenzie Road in Morningside. The man was apprehended and was found with three aircons that were stolen from the business premises,” said Khomo.

The recovered items were positively identified by the complaint.

They were booked as an exhibit and were handed back to the lawful owner.
