Man stabbed to death at Durban Point, suspect arrested

Lt Gen Khombinkosi Jula applauded the police officers for the arrest of the suspect who has been on the run since last year.

FOLLOWING an intensive investigation, Durban Point Police arrested a 35-year-old suspect for murder last week.

According to Capt Nqobile Gwala, this arrest is in response to a case reported on 1 July 2019.

“Point Police received a report of a murder in Mahatma Gandhi Road and proceeded to the scene. On arrival they found the body of Xoli Ngueli with a stab wound to the chest. He was certified dead at the scene. A case of murder was opened for investigation,” she said.

The murder suspect made his first appearance at the Durban Magistrates Court on 20 March.
