FOLLOWING an intensive investigation, Durban Point Police arrested a 35-year-old suspect for murder last week.
According to Capt Nqobile Gwala, this arrest is in response to a case reported on 1 July 2019.
“Point Police received a report of a murder in Mahatma Gandhi Road and proceeded to the scene. On arrival they found the body of Xoli Ngueli with a stab wound to the chest. He was certified dead at the scene. A case of murder was opened for investigation,” she said.

The murder suspect made his first appearance at the Durban Magistrates Court on 20 March.
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Khombinkosi Jula applauded the police officers for the arrest of the suspect who has been on the run since last year.
