Assistance sought in kidnapping case

Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is looking for information regarding this kidnapping of a baby.

THE Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is appealing to the community for assistance with regards to the whereabouts of the woman who they believe can assist in a kidnapping case it is investigating.

According to Capt Nqobile Gwala, on 10 March at around 1pm, a woman was at a salon in South Coast Road, Montclair, with her two week old baby who was sleeping on the couch.

“While the mother was doing her hair she was befriended by a woman who offered to make a bottle for the baby at her flat. The mother became worried when she searched for the woman and she was nowhere to be found. A kidnapping case was opened at the Montclair police station and the docket was transferred to the Brighton Beach FCS Unit for further investigation,” she said.
