Water safety, swim lessons for Addington kids

uShaka’s Swimanathi KZN Water Safety and Learn to Swim Programme enables children from disadvantaged communities to learn to swim.

THE 4th edition of Swimanathi was launched at the Sea Animal Encounters Island at uShaka Marine World recently.

uShaka’s Swimanathi promotes water safety. This KZN Water Safety and Learn to Swim Programme enables children from disadvantaged communities to learn to swim and teaches them about water safety so that they can enjoy themselves beside a pool or at the beach without the risk of injury or drowning.

uShaka Marine World and partners, Tsogo Sun, SAAMBR, Lifesaving SA, GeoChem, Mabliza Lifestyle and Jump City plan to teach 150 children from Addington Primary School, all of whom come from disadvantaged communities, how to enjoy themselves in the water as well as learn about water safety, during the seven-week programme which kicked off over the weekend.
