Gospel competition launched

EThekwini Municipality launches the 2020 edition of the Gospel Icon Discovery Competition.

THE city’s Gospel Icon Discovery Competition, an initiative of Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit, is back for the 7th time with winning prize valued at R100 000.

The competition is aimed solely at uprooting raw talent to stardom. From its inception in 2013, it has paid handsome dividends for innumerable artists who used to endure hardship to make it through the genre. Several previous winners went as far as recording their albums, among them being last year’s winner Sifiso Diya who has recorded his full album.
