UKZN ready for new year

UKZN has 9043 spaces available for first-time applicants in undergraduate academic programmes.

THE University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) received a total of 106 270 applications to study at UKZN in 2020, and has 9043 spaces available for first-time applicants in undergraduate academic programmes.

As at 15 November, approximately 6100 provisional offers had been made to applicants. Final firm offers to those applicants who are offered a place to study at UKZN, will be made as soon as the results of the National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) are released this week.

The UKZN website includes a “Check your application status feature”.

Use your ID number, Central Application Office (CAO) number or UKZN student number to check the status of your application – https://saa.ukzn.ac.za/Status-Check-Accept-Offer. The University’s call centre is also open to attend to application queries – contact 031 260 2212.

The University will give priority to change of mind applicants. These are applicants who have previously applied via the CAO and are now requesting the option to change courses / programmes, from 7 January.

Due to the high number of actual applications received and the limited number of first-entry undergraduate places available, no late applications will be accepted under any circumstances.

Orientation and on-campus registration for first-time entering students will be between 27 January and 31 January. Students with registration holds and requiring curriculum guidance are to register between 27 and 31 January on campus. Parents of first-time entry students are invited to attend Parents’ Day on 25 January.
