THE latest news from the North Pole is that busy elves are doing last minute adjustments to Naughty and Nice lists while Santa dusts off his red coat and combs his beard in readiness for the big day!
Berea Mail asked some local children what they and their parents wanted for Christmas, how they thought Father Christmas will get into their homes to leave them presents and what they were going to give him as a snack as he makes his busy rounds with his reindeers.
Isabelle Roos (5) What do you want for Christmas? “I want princess dollies and I would like a magic set.” How will Father Christmas get into your house? “He will touch his nose and will appear in the house.” What are you going to leave him as a snack? “A mince pie and a beer, and apples, oats and carrots for the reindeers.”
Mia Joseph (5) What do you want for Christmas? “I want a Barbie camper van with a big slide, tiny toys that come with Barbies, a fridge that can open and a big Barbie house with a slide and a chimney.” How will Father Christmas get into your house? “He will use a magic key to get in. We don’t have a chimney.” What are you going to leave him as a snack? “Cookies, milk and carrots for the reindeers.”
Christopher Georghiou (5) What do you want for Christmas? “I want a remote control aeroplane and remote control Ferrari. I also want books that will help me learn about how things can stop, how a real volcano looks like and how people can make roads. I also want a big Range Rover toy and mountain bike toy and a long train on a track with robots.” What are you going to leave Father Christmas as a snack? “My mom will make Father Christmas biscuits and milk, my favourites.” What do your parents want for Christmas? “I don’t know. My mom likes chocolate and milk and coffee beans and sugar, and I think my dad would like an ornament car or new watch.”
Ella Petersen (6) What do you want for Christmas? “A surfboard, a Tablet and a doll.” What are you going to leave Father Christmas as a snack? “Cookies and milk.” What do your parents want for Christmas? “My mom wants an iron with no cord that you can take anyway and can use as a charger, and my dad wants a new boombox as he lost his at his sister’s house.”
Thia Moodley (6) What do you want for Christmas? “I really want a hover board so I can practice balancing, and some new flowers for my mom for Christmas, she loves orchids.” How will Father Christmas get into your house? “With his magic key.” What are you going to leave him as a snack? “Blueberries, as he eats too many cookies and needs healthy stuff, and also milk.”
Gabriella Thomas (5) What do you want for Christmas? “I want a robodog, a tracking watch and a Paw Patrol look-out tower.” What are you going to leave Father Christmas as a snack? “Cookies and milk and carrots for his reindeers.” What do your parents want for Christmas? “My mom would like a new locket, and my dad wants a new watch.”
Tyler Payne (4) What do you want for Christmas? “I want a tick tick fish that swims in the water and a radio control shark.” How will Father Christmas get into your house? “He’s going to come down the chimney.” What are you going to leave him as a snack? “Chocolate cookies, chips and chocolate milk.”
