Love lights a candle

A special service in collaboration with CANSA will be held at St Cyprian's Church.

ST Cyprian’s Anglican Church, 603 Umbilo Road, hosts its annual Love Lights a Candle service in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), on Thursday, 5 December, at 6.30pm.

This event honours people with cancer and through prayer and the lighting of candles, the congregants support those fighting the disease and remember those lost. Love Lights a Candle was started at the church 27 years ago by Fr Dane Elsworth and brings together the voices of the Durban Symphonic Choir. A guest speaker on the night will be a survivor.

This will be a combined Christmas service, and carols will be sung.

The collection is donated to the CANSA Mkhuhla Care Home – the care and support wing of CANSA. Tea, coffee and mince pies will be served afterwards at CANSA, 619 Umbilo Road.
