Man arrested for theft

Police arrested a suspect who allegedly took a bag and cellphone from a restaurant in Glenwood.

POLICE arrested a man who allegedly stole a woman’s handbag and cellphone, last week.

Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios said police arrested the suspect who allegedly took the items from a restaurant in Glenwood earlier last week. He was arrested when he returned to the restaurant late on Friday night.

“The suspect had allegedly stolen a cellphone which he put in his pocket and a woman’s handbag which he placed in the boot of his car on Monday night,” Mathios said.

He said when he returned to the restaurant on Friday night he was identified and the police were called to the scene. He was arrested and taken into police custody.
