Support book fair

The monthly Durban Book Fair a free event which aims to promote the reading culture in Durban.

THE Durban Book Fair is at Mitchell Park on Sunday, 3 November from 10am to 3pm.

The programme includes the launch of Black Forest by Tsitsi Sachikonye at 10am, Sulosh Pillay introduces Daughters of Africa at 10.45am, the book How to eat ice-crem by Hitesher Gef will be at 11.15am and Rakhsa Chabalsingh and Leon G will be in conversation with Kiru Naidoo at noon about their illustrated English-isiZulu Dictionary.

The Durban Book Fair Green Awards take place between 2pm and 3pm, and visitors can also enjoy a Mrs Naidoo’s Made in Chatsworth heritage cooking demonstration, an exhibition by the 1860 Heritage Centre to mark the 159th year anniversary of the first Indian Indenture, a free cancer screening, and the signing of the petition to pardon Guy Fawkes.

The Durban Book Fair is an initiative of HashtagBooks and the Mitchell Park Trust. It is a free event which is held on the first Sunday of every month, and aims to promote the reading culture in Durban.
