CPF, police host fun awareness day

An Anti-Crime Awareness and Fun Day was held on Saturday, 26 October at Stella Soccer Field.

THE Umbilo Executive CPF and Umbilo SAPS hosted a successful Anti-Crime Awareness and Fun Day on Saturday at Stella Sports Club.

Residents were treated to a performance by the Police Band, anti-crime awareness talks and displays by the Public Order Policing, Dog Unit and Fire Department, as well as a human trafficking display, self-defense displays, and entertainment from Sylvester (Sly) Dunn from Afritude, the Durban Girls’ High School drum majorettes, the Glenwood High School Band, Mhayise Dance Productions and Karate For You (KFY) Goju Ryu KZN.

Children took part in a fancy dress competition, dressing up as their favorite super hero, and there were also drawing and colouring-in competitions, face painting and a jumping castle.

Different security companies were also be present on the day, assisting with queries on security upgrades, and residents got to browse craft stalls at the flea market.
