Radiothon to raise funds for the aged

Support the Aryan Benevolent Home’s Radiothon on Saturday and help the NPO fulfill its mission of caring, sharing and serving.

THE eagerly-anticipated Aryan Benevolent Home (ABH) Diwali Radiothon, a vital event in the annual fundraising drive for the non-profit organisation, takes place at the ABH on Saturday, 26 October from 8am to 8pm.

“We are fortunate to once again partner with Hindvani. ‘Brick by Brick’ is the central theme to this year’s campaign. Funds will be used to revamp and renovate the ageing facilities for the home and to purchase new beds and mattresses for our elderly residents. We will also upgrade the facilities in our children’s cottages and the ABH VJ Kara Family Centre – our facility that cares for women and children who have suffered domestic violence,” said Nirode Bramdaw, ABH Council Member and spokesman.

The ABH offers care and shelter to the aged and frail, victims of violence and abuse, children in need and the mentally and physically challenged. The NPO is almost 100 years and has become a national brand and icon in South Africa.

“We also appeal to the public to become Change Angels. This means that you will be able visit the ABH and use our phone to appeal to friends, families and organisations for donations towards the ABH,” added Bramdaw.

To find out more, email vanessa@abh.co.za or contact 031 404 9530.

Nirode Bramdaw added: “We serve 750 000 meals a year and we also comfort, clothe and educate the 142 children that we nurture. However, such dedicated care to the thousands of lives that we touch costs us millions annually. We are currently operating at a R520 000 deficit every month. Please support the ABH’s Radiothon and help us fulfill our mission of caring, sharing and serving.”
