Metro Police arrived on scene and fired rubber bullets on the fighting members of the taxi groups.

TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill in the Musgrave and Morningside areas this morning when e-hailing taxi drivers formed a convoy, blocking off lanes and roads, in a protest against an alleged call by YoTaxi operators for drivers affiliated to Uber and Bolt to cease operations in KZN.

According to media reports, the taxi owners issued a warning to the e-hailing drivers to stop operating and be incorporated into their service, which has led to mounting tensions between the groups.
