Self defence demo empowers women

Women attending were taught basic self defense tools to equip themselves and to use in tough situations.

WOMEN were taught skills to protect themselves at a free self defense #IWillNotBeNext Workshop at Bulwer Park on Saturday morning.

Presented by Tammy Currin and Bunmi Ojewole, the women attending were taught basic self defense tools to equip themselves and to use in tough situations.

“We wanted to offer this course to women in the community, in light of all the recent horrendous crime against women and children. Women attending were taught self defense based on Brazilian jiu jitsu,” said Bunmi.

Tammy added: “It is so good for women to learn these self defense skills, and to be able to empower themselves.”
