Police seek help in rape case

The men forced the victim to a nearby sports ground where they took turns raping her and robbed her of her belongings.

BRIGHTON Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing to the community to assist with regards to the whereabouts of two men who can assist in the investigation of a rape and robbery case.

Capt Nqobile Gwala from provincial SAPS said it is alleged that on 7 September at around midnight, a woman went to the toilet outside a building on Bellair Road when she was confronted by two men, believed to be in their 20s, both armed with firearms and a hammer.

“They forced the victim to a nearby sports ground where they took turns raping her and robbed her of her belongings, including a cellphone. The suspects then fled the scene on foot,” said Gwala.
