Greyville burglary suspects arrested

A Blue Security armed response officer responded to the burglary just in time to spot two of three suspects fleeing the premises.

A SECURITY officer’s quick response to a burglary in progress led to the arrest of two suspects in the Greyville area last week.

Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios said the officer had responded to a property where the burglary was in progress just in time to spot two of three suspects fleeing the premises.

The incident occurred at around 12.30pm.

“He gave chase and managed to arrest the two suspects in Elm Road. The suspects had earlier forced open the door to a storeroom on the property where three women were on the premises. When the suspects realised that our officer had arrived they dropped the goods they were in the process of stealing and fled. No injuries were reported, although the women who were on the property at the time were left traumatised by the incident.” he said.

Durban Central SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
