Vigilant police officers nab thieves

The men were also found in possession of remote jammers, car breaking implements and dangerous weapons.

POLICE officers from Durban Central arrested four suspects shortly after they committed a crime last week in the Durban CBD.

Lt Col Thulani Zwane from provincial SAPS said the police officers were conducting crime prevention operations in Durban Central when they spotted a vehicle with four occupants.

“The vehicle was intercepted and searched. Four suspects were found in possession of a cellphone suspected to be stolen from a vehicle a few hours earlier in the CBD. The arrested suspects were also linked to a business robbery in the Point policing precinct which was reported last month,” he said.

The men were also found in possession of remote jammers, car breaking implements and dangerous weapons. They are expected to appear at the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon.
