DA in eThekwini to lay charges against City Manager

The DA in eThekwini will be laying criminal charges against City Manager for failing to carry out his duty as the cities administrative head.

THE Democratic Alliance eThekwini caucus leader, Nicole Graham,  Chief Whip, Thabani Mthethwa, and Councillor, Chris van den Berg, along with other DA eThekwini councillors will lay criminal charges at Durban Central Police station against City Manager Sipho Nzuza for failing to carry out his duty as the city’s administrative head and investigate reported tender fraud  today, Monday 26 August at 11am.

According to a media release by the party, in 2016 the DA submitted an official complaint to the City Integrity and Investigations Unit (CIIU) to look into the Aqua Transport contract, which ripped the city of millions but failed to deliver.  A report that was made available to the City Manager in 2017 but he allegedly failed to investigate the matter.

The DA said its call for an investigation on the matter has fallen on deaf ears and it is now demanding that the report be investigated accordingly.
