Motorists warned of N2 road section closure

MOTORISTS are advised that there will be a complete road closure of the N2, Section 25 between Higginson Highway and Edwin Swales Drive north and south bound this weekend, 24 and 25 August from 5pm to 5am.

SANRAL said the closure is necessary to remove the Eendrag pedestrian bridge on the N2/25 at km 8.4. Traffic will be diverted as follows:

• N2 North bound traffic will be diverted onto the M1 Eastbound towards the R102 at the Higginson Highway interchange, North towards the M7 on the R102 and west towards the N2 on the M7.
• N2 South bound traffic will be diverted onto the M7 Eastbound towards the R102 at the Edwin Swales interchange, South towards the M1 on the R102 and west towards the N2 on the M1.
• All detour routes will be clearly demarcated by the applicable and relevant signage and all critical high traffic areas will be manned by trained and accredited flagmen.

The closure may need to be adjusted depending on weather conditions on the day.  Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and adhere to speed limits.
