Umbilo CPF hosts Women’s Day project

Umbilo CPF spent the morning with the women at Mothwa Haven in Deodar Road.

THE Executive of the Umbilo CPF spent a morning with the women at Mothwa Haven in Deodar Road, Umbilo on 9 August to celebrate Women’s Day.

The morning kicked off with a welcome by the CPF chairperson, Heather Rorick Roos, followed by an informative crime awareness talk by Const Maphalala from Umbilo SAPS on crime safety tips for women.

There were lots of treats to eat, as well as coffee, tea and cooldrinks. A pamper session a highlight of the morning with women receiving reflexology and hand massages. The Scheherasade Belly Dance Studio provided entertainment.

At the end of the morning’s events, each woman received a goodie bag.

The Executive thanked all the organisations and people that supported the Women’s Day project with donations, including ADT/ Fidelity Security, Blue Security, Glenwood Spar, Glo’s Gourmet Foods, Kip McGrath Glenwood, Mooki Noodle Power, Queensmead Spar, RNA Distributions and Woolworths Bulwer Road.

“A special big thank you is also extended to the wife of Col John Romer, the Umbilo SAPS Station Commander, for providing a cake, as well as residents Janine Amoretti and Susanna for their donations and the dance studio. We also extend our thanks and appreciation to Captain Manyoni, as well as Constables Maphalala and Dlamini who attended the event, representing Umbilo SAPS,” said Heather.
