Durban SAPS make arrests

All suspects were charged for common robberies, attempted burglary at businesses, murder and possession of drugs and dangerous weapons.

DURBAN Central crime prevention officers arrested 11 suspects for different crimes over the month-end weekend.

Suspects were charged for common robberies, attempted burglary at businesses, murder and possession of drugs and dangerous weapons.
“The suspects arrested for attempted common robbery were apprehended after they tried to rob a police officer who was in civilian clothing, observing in Joe Slovo near KwaMashu taxi rank. The KwaMashu taxi drivers assisted the police to chase down the suspect who was apprehended,” said Const Zanele Khomo from Durban Central.

She said SAPS Durban Central had issued a warning to the community to be aware of theft out of motor vehicles.
“Motorists are urged to lock their doors properly and check manually if the doors have been locked. Property such as laptops and cellphones must not be left exposed if the vehicle is parked,” said Khomo.
