KZN recognised at Mr South Africa 2019

Shaun Stander now adds to his list of 73 modelling titles another two following the Mr SA pageant.

DURBAN’S Shaun Stander of Mobile Model Management, who was the only man to represent the province at the Mr South Africa 2019 finals, did not disappoint.

The popular contestant turned his modelling, dancing, and fitness career into launching an agency in 2003 and starting countless new careers. After 10 months of competing, being narrowed down to the Top 20 finalists, winning his challenges and winning the country’s vote, he now adds to his list of 73 modelling titles another two following this pageant.

He was the only finalist to receive two titles and was crowned Mr South Africa 2019 First Prince and Mr South Africa People’s Choice Winner.
Shaun will go on to represent the country on the international stage. Shaun thanked everyone for the support and well wishes he received.

“The title was anyone’s to win. The qualities they looked for was integrity, professionalism and compassion. It had to do with what difference you can do for your community,” he said.

The judges’ criteria was to find someone who was a true gentlemen, someone who speaks well and who presents themselves well.

“In the run-up to the event, I reached out further for my causes where I could create greater awareness. I want to fight against bullying (physical and cyber), racism, and abuse, and want to further awareness on health and knowing your true worth in society. I will now also do further work with schools to try raise funds for the underprivileged, and work on improving knowledge through schooling,” he said.

Now that the title has been won, what’s next? “I will be working on developing my brand and other companies and will also work with those wanting to assist me with my preparation for the international title. I want the opportunity to be a true ambassador for our country, to help create awareness for men’s and women’s health, as well as work together against gender-based violence. I aim to be the voice for those afraid to speak up for themselves and to help those individuals to find the confidence to believe they can do it too,” he said.
