Githa shares life experiences through debut book

This book reveals to the reader an alternative option in which to view life’s challenges.

AUTHOR, inspirational speaker and life coach, Githa Balram, has published her debut book The Spiritual Gardener – Even Birds Fly in the Rain.

Like many, Githa juggles various roles in her life; from employee to entrepreneur, student to teacher and listener to speaker.

She has lived life in a safety net and at times had to let go and risk all she had. On her journey of self-mastery, she uncovered and learnt for herself the necessary guidelines in making her life fulfilling and rewarding, despite being faced with a multitude of challenges.

It is this journey that gave birth to her first book, The Spiritual Gardener – Even Birds Fly in the Rain.

Her daily life practices and her book are not based on any academic perspective, but from personal experiences and conscious choices she made to understand the depth of her own existence.

Githa’s life’s journey began from very simple beginnings with a childhood that was scarred by the effects of crime.

Believing that she was destined for better, she rose above her limitations and strived towards achieving her dreams.

In this time, she found love and stability, but life did not have a fairy tale ending for her. She became a widow at 32 years old, and if that didn’t disrupt her world enough, then the wrath of mother nature certainly did during the earthquake of 2015 in Nepal while she was there completing her yoga teacher training course.

While dealing with these unbelievable challenges, a transformation began to develop inside of her. The challenges she had experienced, as earth shattering as it may have been, activated within her a new perspective of being. She describes this as the period of being reborn into the person she should have been her whole life.

The cover of the book.

“I learnt a great lesson in life: it does not matter what hurdles we may face in life, no matter how dark a night we must endure, there is always a dawn, a new day and a new opportunity. The sun rises every morning, whether we are ready for it or not. With this sunrise, comes hope. To know that a new day begins every day, leaves us empowered and at peace. Our growth evolves in leaps and bounds when we accept the occurrence of challenges or suffering in our lives as part of our journey to self-mastery and eternal peace,” she said.

The book is currently available at Destiny Bookshop Windermere Centre, Morningside, can be purchased from Amazon Kindle and Smashwords, or directly from the author. Contact 083 392 1640 or email: info@githabalram.co.za or gktrdg@gmail.com.
