Help keep our coastlines beautiful

The initiative aims to clean up and preserve the country’s coastlines.

PEOPLE n Planet Beach Clean-Up, a monthly event launched by Pick n Pay in partnership with KZN Beach Clean-Up, takes place on Saturday, 3 August.

The initiative aims to clean up and preserve the country’s coastlines, but also hopes to inspire recycling behaviour to avoid unnecessary plastic pollution entering the environment in the first place. The meet up location is the Country Club Beach, North Beach from 9am.

“Volunteers will receive Pick n Pay’s new People n Planet reusable shopping bag – made from recycled green plastic bottles. They will also stand a chance to win one of five R250 Pick n Pay gift cards. Participants are urged to bring water, hat and sunscreen. To reduce plastic usage, please bring your own garden gloves if possible. However, a latex glove, sun screen and hand sanitizer will be provided,” said Elisha Parbhoodeen.
