Driver appears in court for robbery

A passenger in the vehicle was robbed by the taxi driver and the second accused in Durban central.

TWO men, a private taxi driver and his accomplice, appeared briefly in Durban Magistrate’s Court this week in connection with a case of armed robbery.

According to Capt Muzi Maphumulo from SAPS, the men were arrested by Durban Central detectives on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 July, after a robbery which took place on 10 July. “A passenger in the vehicle was robbed by the taxi driver and the second accused in the Durban CBD,” he said.

The two have been remanded in custody until 22 July when they will make another appearance.
