A PRIVATE security officer has been praised for his vigilance which led to the arrest of a suspected thief, who is now in police custody.

Fidelity ADT officer, Thulani Mjoka, who is stationed at a client’s premises in Gladys Mazibuko (Marriot) Road, not only looks after the safety of the premises but also keeps an eye on the street and surrounding areas.

While on a routine patrol at around 9am, Mjoka noticed a man making his way into a home in a nearby Linden Road and immediately proceeded to investigate further.

On route to the premises, Mjoka activated his panic button to notify the Fidelity ADT control room who dispatched an armed response officer vehicle as backup.
