Professor explores questions on language and culture

An illustrated talk by Prof Charles Stirton entitled Language, culture and conservation, will be on Monday, 24 June.

THE Botanical Society of South Africa KZN Coastal Branch presents an illustrated talk by Prof Charles Stirton entitled Language, culture and conservation, on Monday, 24 June at Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre at 5.30pm for 6pm.

An internationally renowned botanist, biologist and author, Prof Stirton is Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Cape Town. He was born in SA and lived in the country until the 1980s after which he re-located to the UK. He is a specialist in the Leguminosae (Peas and Beans plant family), and was Deputy-Director of Kew Gardens and established the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
