Attend Durban’s first Mass Iftaar

Durban’s Muslim community is inviting communities of all religious denominations to share in a breaking of fast.

THE South African Muslim Network invites the community to attend Durban’s first Mass Iftaar on Sunday, 2 June at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium from 3pm to 6pm.

Durban’s Muslim community has responded to the cry for much needed global peace by inviting communities of all religious denominations to share in the gracious spirit of Ramadan with a Mass Iftaar (breaking of fast).

“The term “breaking bread” is a universal metaphor for peace. It is hoped that this act of sharing meals will provide an opportunity for people to interact with each other in a way that will add positively to the conversations around peace, mutual respect and goodwill,” said Dr Faisal Suliman, chairperson of the South African Muslim Network.
