Traffic disrupted as trucks block road to Durban Container Terminal

Truck owners are calling for a meeting with Transnet to discuss a list of grievances.

MORNING traffic on Umbilo Road and South Coast Road was disrupted on Wednesday when truck owners blocked roads to the Durban Container Terminal.

According to media reports, truck owners are calling for a meeting with Transnet to discuss a list of grievances.

Among these are complaints that the Durban Container Terminal takes too long to offload containers which affects their bottom line.

A lack of ablution facilities for truck drivers and lack of maintenance of cranes and hysters were also issues the truck owners are demanding be addressed.
