THE Code of Conduct, which is signed by all candidates and registered political parties prohibits the following:
- Use language or act in a way that may provoke violence or the intimidation of anyone.
- Publish false or defamotry allegations in respect of a party, its candidates, representatives or members.
- Plagiarise the symbols, colours or acronms of any other registered party.
- Discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity, gender, class or religion.
- Offer an inducement or reward to join the party, attend a meeting, vote or not vote, or refuse nomination.
- Carry or display weapons at a political meeting or event.
- Prevent access to voters by other parties or candidates.
- Deface, remove or destroy billboards, placards, posters or any other election material of another party or candidate.
- Abuse a position of power or influence to invluence the outcome of an election.

Any suspected criminal acts in respect of the Code of Conduct should be reported to the nearest police station. Suspected breaches of the Code of Conduct should be reported to the Electoral Court at MSout@sca.judiciary.org.za
When reporting a breach, you must provide as much information as possible including photographs, recordings or any other evidence to supporet the case and help the investigation. Once you have reported the case to the Electoral Court, you should email the details of the case, including the case number, to the Directorate for Electoral Offences at Legalservices@elections.org.za.
