BEREA SAPS made good arrests over the past week.

On Thursday, 4 April at about 11.45am, Capt K Stephen received a complaint of a robbery in progress near Berea Park, Essenwood.

Capt Poobalan Naidoo from Berea SAPS said: “Capt Stephen responded with the assistance of crime prevention members and eThekwini Security. When he arrived on the scene he noticed the complainant holding one suspect on the floor. Three suspects had tried to rob the complaint of his cellphone, however two of the men fled the scene. The officers assisted the complainant and arrested the suspect,” he said.
A gas firearm and a knife were recovered from the suspect.

Other arrests included the arrest of a suspect on 1 April at around 5.40pm, for being in possession of suspected stolen property, an arrest on 2 April at 3pm for receiving stolen property, an arrest for two counts of murder on 4 April, an arrest for theft on 5 April at 11.15am, three arrests for possession of dagga on 6 April at 3pm and another arrest for common robbery on 6 April at 5.30pm.
