Assistance sought in rape case

Brighton Beach FCS Unit is looking for information regarding a case of rape in Cato Manor.

BRIGHTON Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is seeking assistance from the community regarding a rape case under investigation.

According to Col Thembeka Mbele, it is alleged on 1 February at 3.50am, a 37-year-old woman was walking along Harry Gwala Road in Chesterville when she was attacked by an unknown man.

“The suspect forced the victim into the bushes and raped her at knife point. A case of rape was opened at Cato Manor Police Station and was transferred to the Brighton Beach FCS Unit for investigation,” said Mbele.

The investigating officer is searching for a man they have an identikit of, whom they believe can assist in solving this case. He is tall and has a slender build.
