Man injured in Glenmore house fire

Rescue Care Paramedics were called to Dan Pienaar Road in Glenmore where a house was reportedly on fire.

A MAN in his thirties was seriously injured after a fire broke out in a Glenmore house he was working in on Tuesday afternoon just before 2pm.

Garrith Jamieson said Rescue Care Paramedics were called to Dan Pienaar Road in Glenmore where a house was reportedly on fire.

“On arrival paramedics found a man on the grass with serious burn wounds to his body. He was stabilised on the scene by advanced life support paramedics before he being transported to hospital,” he said.

The house in Glenmore was damaged by the fire.

The Durban Fire Department worked quickly to extinguish the blaze which caused severe damage to the house. The road was closed while emergency personnel worked on scene.

“At this stage events leading up to the start of the blaze are unknown, however SAPS and Durban Fire Department will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.
