Motorists warned to be alert

Motorists are urged to close their windows and doors properly when approaching and when stationary at traffic lights.

DURBAN Central SAPS is appealing to the community or motorists in particular to be vigilant and alert at all times.

Const Zanele Khomo from Durban Central said police are urging motorists to close their windows and doors properly when approaching traffic lights and when stationary at traffic lights.

“A modus operandi used by suspects is that motorists are approached by a group of people while stationary at a robot. The drivers are held up at knife point and cellphones or bags are demanded. SAPS urges the community and motorists to be alert at all times and to notify the police when suspecting or witnessing criminal activities such as this,” said Khomo.
